About Me
When I am not tinkering with cars, you can hear me playing drums, mandolin, or anything with strings. My reputation as a Renaissance Man probably comes from the fact that I work as a Mechanical Engineer but my Master's degree is in Theology. I can tell you where bad mechanical designs go when they die! My eye is drawn to anything Art Deco, especially the cars, trains, and artwork of the 1930s. I have become risk averse with age, but I still find time (and courage) to teach young people how to drive a stick shift, panic stop, left foot brake, drift, and do pendulum turns in the dirt.
Latest Project
Recently I acquired a 1953 Austin Healey 100. To be fair, it is a bucket of rust with a VIN plate. The British Motors Heritage Trust reports the original factory records for my car do not survive, so the car is slowly revealing its identity. A mystery to be solved!
